What is a Seamless Texture?
A seamless texture is an image that has edges that blend into each other when the image is repeated.
Years ago, seamless textures were used primarily for desktop wallpaper and web page backgrounds. Today, high resolution textures are used for a variety of design applications including Photoshop fills and 3D rendering.
How do you create a Seamless Texture?
Just about any digital photo can be transformed into a seamless texture using Adobe Photoshop. We've created a short tutorial that explains the technique I used to create all the seamless textures on this website:
